Applicants for career mail handling positions are required to take the Postal Exam Battery 470 (or Battery 460 for Rural Carrier Associate, identical to test 470). Applicants that pass with a score of 70% or higher are then listed on the "Register" based on their exam scores. They are then interviewed accordingly, highest exam scores first, as positions become available.

Each job classification has a separate register. We therefore recommend you test for as many positions, that you qualify for. You can also prepare yourself for your examination with American Career Services Inc. Postal Study Guild package.

Exam scheduling is done at the sole discretion of the Regional Postmaster as they see a need to update their Register. We therefore make no representation of when the next exam will be given in your region. It is your responsibility to determine when the next exam will be given for the region you wish to work in. The exam is free and there is no cost for applicants to apply for, or to take the exam.

Getting a position with the U.S. Postal Service can offer you a rewarding life time career with great working conditions, excellent pay, opportunity for advancement, an a excellent benefits & retirement package.

Don't let this opportunity pass you by!
