| Modify Password Form
You may use this form to change the password on your Datasync account. If
you submit this form successfully, you must enter the new password into:
- Dial-Up Networking, Trumpet, MacPPP, or other dialup software
- Any programs which check your e-mail
- Any telnet sessions to datasync.com or ftp sessions to ftp.datasync.com
Please be sure you know how to do all of the above before proceeding.
Also, please use care in selecting passwords that cannot be easily guessed by
intruders. This means don't use your name, nickname, initials, birthday, etc. We recommend
passwords of at least six characters that cannot be found in a dictionary. One good idea
is to think of a 6-8 word phrase or sentence that you can remember, and take the first
letter of each word. Mixing upper and lower case a good idea too.
In the past, your dialup password and shell/e-mail password were maintained separately.
This is no longer the case for most accounts. A few accounts still have separate
passwords, and using this form instead of the shell passwd utility will ensure
that both are the same.
