Parting Words

Aside from the loss of Lowell Otto this year the W5 Bureau loss another sorter with the passing of  Bill Gary, K8CSG who was the S sorter. Also, though not an MDXA member, the coast lost a great ham and good friend when Charles "Kim" Kimmerly, N5XGI passed away. Our deepest condolences are extended to all of their family and friends.

Looking forward to 2001, there are many exciting things on the horizon for the MDXA. We have now finalized our plans for another IOTA expedition to Dauphin Island, AL in late February using callsign W4D again. Of course we will be looking to better our Field Day 2000 showing during Field Day 2001.  Maybe a Top Ten finish this year. Some of you members who don't visit our web site very often may wish to do so. There are lots of goodies there to aid the DXer, including the ability to generate a customized beam heading listing for your location. This was a new addition during the past year. Why not spend some time browsing while you are here reading this!!! No telling what you may find. If there is something you would like to see there, let me know. This is YOUR web site, it can only be made better with input from you. I just recently added a page with links to members' home pages. This was a direct request from a few members. I can't guarantee I will implement every suggestion, but, I will do my best.

MDXA Webmaster and Bureau Sorter

Happy Holidays to you and yours!!!
