1) To set Outlook Express up to retrieve the newsgroups from our server, first you need to open Outlook Express and click on Tools and then click on Accounts. You will have a couple of tabs at the top, click on the News tab. If you see nothing in the box, we need to setup the account on the program. If you already have an account listed in this box, please go to Section 2. Click on the Add button and then click on the News button.

1a) It will ask you for your Display Name, here you can put your real name or your initials, whichever suits you best. Click next.

1b) It will ask you for your e-mail address, enter your e-mail address in the box. It will be your loginID@datasync.com. Click next.

1c) It will ask you for the News (NNTP) Server. It will be news.datasync.com. The box below where it says "My news server requires me to log on" needs to be left unchecked. Click next.

1d) It will ask you to specify a name for the mail configuration. Put anything you want in there. Click next.

1e) It will ask you to Choose your Connection Type. Click on Connect using my phone line and then click next.

1f) You should already have a Datasync dialup icon made in Dial-Up Networking. Click on Datasync and then click next. Viola, your finished. Click Finish to exit the setup.

2) If you already had an account listed in the box and you think you might have to reconfigure the settings click on the Account Name that you need to modify and then click on Properties. Below is a screenshot of what you should see under the "General Area"

Note: You can put anything you want to in the Name and Organization fields but in the E-mail address and Reply-to address should both be your loginID@datasync.com (If your loginID was "bob" your e-mail address should be bob@datasync.com)

2a) Click on the Server Tab. The Server Name should be news.datasync.com and the option "This server requires me to logon" should be unchecked. Below is a screenshot of what you should see under the "Server" tab

2b) Next click on the Connection Tab. You should have "Connect using my phone" selected and down in the bottom, the dialup networking connection should be set to Datasync (Or whatever your connection name is called). Below is a screenshot of what you should see under the Connection Tab.

Congratulations, your news configuration for Outlook Express is now complete.
