HERRINGTON
CEMETERY

The Herrington Cemetery was located on land owned by Cincinnatus Abernathy Herrington, aka, (Nat Herrington). He donated this land for the building of the second Red Creek Baptist Church which was being relocated farther west from it's original location. The first church was built by John Dale about 1823 and was organized in 1826 making it the oldest baptist church in the area. The second location was in use until 1916 and was relocated this same year for the last time at it's present location.

The Herrington Cemetery's number of unmarked graves are unknown if any does exist.

Delpha Amelia Bond, m. Cincinnatus Abernathy Herrington and was the mother of Lillian, Russel, and Milton.

Lillian Seleta Herrington was 1st wife of Theadore Gilmore Bilbo.
