The standard beetle, generally, had drum brakes on the front and rear. These work well, but with the increased power to weight ratio in the Bradley conversion, a change to Ghia front disk brakes is recommended. New Ghia brake kits can be found for about $100-$150.00. Those wanting even more stopping power can add rear disk brakes (with parking brake) for about $600.00.
