This site is sponsored by the Olivia Waddell Epilepsy Endowment Fund,
and was developed to unite and educate
those affected by and afflicted with epilepsy.

The Olivia Waddell Epilepsy Endowment Fund will be sponsoring 20 children for epilepsy camp through the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Louisiana (EFSELA). If you know of a child who would like to attend, or if you would like to sponsor a child, call EFSELA at 800-960-0587.

Twenty-nine copies of Contemporary Diagnosis and Management of the Patient with Epilepsy were given away over the last two years. These books were distributed and graciously donated to the Olivia Waddell Epilepsy Endowment Fund by its author Ilo E. Leppik, MD, MINCEP Epilepsy Program, University of Minnesota. Should additional opportunities be presented, you will be notified via this website. Thank you for your loyalty and participation.

Sincerely, James and Sherry Waddell

The intent of this Web site is four fold. The first is to unite parents and friends of those children who have epilepsy, the second is to allow an open forum between those who have epilepsy, the third is to increase funding for epilepsy education and research, and the forth is to expose all interested individuals in the resourses and activities available to those who have epilepsy.

Olivia had a rare seizure disorder, which led to her death. Since we lost her on January 30, 1996, my wife and I have yet to find anyone who shares a similar experience, with a child the same age. Our little girl was 22 months old when she died. Olivia had a severe, prolonged seizure about every four to seven weeks, triggered by illness. Her seizures could not be controlled through anti-seizure medications. She was normal in every way between these seizures.

We do hope you find this Web site helpful. We intend to maintain a database of names, e-mail addresses, ages, seizure type, medication being taken, and state of health. The goal will be to inform people with similar situations, where they may find each other through e-mail. Physical addresses and phone numbers will not be requested. You can give that information to your new e-mail pals if you wish.

Please realize that this service will require some time for a database of contacts with similar issues to develop. Proceed through the attached Web pages for more information.

Thank you,

James and Sherry Waddell - Olivia's Daddy and Mommy
