2001 - 2002 Season
October 13th @8:15 PM & 14th @2:15 PM, 2001 The Pirates of Penzance - The famous Gilbert & Sullivan show that was the basis for The Pirate Movie with Kristy McNichol & Christopher Atkins. Our hero, Frederic is accidentally apprenticed to a "pirate" instead of a "pilot" until his 21st year (he believes) only to discover he is sworn til his 21st birthday. No problem you think? He was born on leap day and so must serve 60 more years! What will happen to poor Frederic and his love, Mabel? Can Mabel's guardian, Major-General Stanley (the very model of a modern major-general), lead the poor bobbies (A policeman's lot is not a happy one.) to victory? The performances will be conducted by the Opera's Artistic Director, Jane Long Hardin. Reserved seating tickets are $20 for adults and $6 for students at the door. Or get a season ticket for $50 and save $10!
November 9th, 2001 @6:00 PM Annual Cabaret Dinner - From the Great Southern Club overlooking the Mississippi Sound, enjoy the view, entertainment and superb cuisine for $50 per person. It's worth much more! Featured will be the fabulous Lester Senter, who has performed with Placido Domingo and Beverly Sills, and across the USA and abroad. She has performed songs based on works by Walter Anderson and Eudora Welty.
February 10th, 2002 @3:00 PM Requiem - Written by the late Dr. Laurence Oden, founder of the Gulf Coast Opera and long time general director, and performed by Musica Sacra of Mobile together with the Opera Chorus. The performance will be dedicated to Dr. Oden and conducted by Musica Sacra's Christopher Uhl.

Rigoletto -
Some of Giuseppe Verdi's most famous melodies and a plot based on "Le Roi
s'amuse", Victor Hugo's brilliant attack on the French court. A tragic story
of sex & conquest, plots & lies, and vengeance gone terribly awry. English
super-titles.
Rigoletto replaced -
Instead of Rigoletto we will present the classic comic opera
La Serva Padrona featuring Ocean Springs native Keith Cook. Also
filling out the evening will be highlights from Dido and Aeneas.
