This program runs under Microsoft

Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP and NT4.

This program converts a knitting pattern stitch gauge (such as you would find in a knitting magazine) to your knitted swatch gauge.  After your swatch gauge information is entered, it can calculate the number of stitches and rows you need to knit for a given number of inches.  This permits you to take measurements for a garment, do a swatch, and convert the measurements to stitches and rows.

It also includes a second feature that calculates the edge shaping utilizating the so called "Magic Formula".  There is an option for either one-side increase/decrease or two-side increase/decrease.  This is handy for shaped a shaped bodice or sleeves of a sweater.

NOTE:  This program will NOT run from this web page.  You must download it and run it from your own computer.

DOWNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS

To download this file just click on the desired file.   You should get the familiar download screen that asks if you want to 'run from this location' or 'save to disk'.  Choose 'save to disk' and then remember (or write down) where you put it.

The file will require an unzip program to open it.  (I use WinZip: http://www.winzip.com ).  The zipped file also contains a text file, knitcomp.txt, which is the basic instructions for using the program.   Once it has been unzipped, you can open knitcomp.txt in any word processor (Notepad is fine) and format it the way you want for printing.

This program is Freeware and as such may be freely distributed as long as the original copyright notice  remains an integral part of the program code.

Have Fun, and be sure to let me know how you like it.  Criticism (not to be confused with flames) is always welcome.

Read The Instructions.
