GOLD WING ROAD
RIDERS’ ASSOCIATION
LOUISIANA
CHAPTER “F”
Louisiana is the District state for Chapter “F”,
which is one of four states (Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas) that
represents Region “H”, which is one of thirteen regional divisions
nationally.
The Louisiana Chapter “F” was formed in
the year of 1986; and, received the original charter on July 8 of that year.
The number of charter members was 106.
At this time the Chapter Director was called “Area Representative”.
Due to the majority of the charter participants being residents of the
Slidell area the charter reflects Slidell as its home base city. Although, participants are from the cities of Slidell, New
Orleans, Mandeville, Covington, Gretna, St. Bernard, Walker, Ponchatoula, and
even some from the neighboring state of Mississippi.
Chapter “F” participants adopted the nickname of
“F” Troopers (taken from a well know television show). The original chapter colors were gray, which has been changed
over the years to teal green (we do still wear gray as our chapter colors at
informal events). The official
chapter patch is that of a U.S. Government Cavalry soldier riding a gold wing.
The participants today continue to promote motorcycle safety, fun and friendship. “F” Troopers would like to think the “F” also stands for “Fun and Forever Friends”.
Chapter "F" meets every 3rd. Tuesday at the Ryan's on Robert Rd. in Slidell.
